Linden, New Jersey, is a small town located in Union County. It has a population of approximately 30,000 people and covers an area of about 3.1 square miles. The city is bordered by Irvington and Rahway on the west, Elizabeth on the south, and Garwood on the east. The northern border of Linden is shared with Clark Township in Union County and Roselle Park in Essex County.
Linden is home to many historical sites, including the Linden Public Library, built in 1909; St. James Episcopal Church; and the Linden YMCA (Young Men’s Christian Association). There are several elementary schools in Linden, including John F Kennedy Elementary School, McManus Elementary School, Dr. William B Anderson Elementary School, and James Rumsey Technical High School. It was initially built as an all-boys school but now has male and female students from grades 9 through 12 living nearby.
