Gahanna is a city in Franklin County, Ohio, United States. The population was 33,506 at the 2010 census. Gahanna is a suburb of Columbus and part of its metropolitan area.

Gahanna was laid out in 1812 by General William Lytle, who named it after his wife. Its name comes from the Cherokee town Ga-hoo-nay or “forked land” in English. It was incorporated as a village in 1901, and as a city in 1907.
