Lawton is a city in and the county seat of Comanche County, Oklahoma. It was named after Lieutenant Colonel Henry Ware Lawton, a United States Army officer who had fought in the American Civil War, the Indian Wars and the Spanish-American War. The population was 100,975 at the 2010 census, making it the third-largest city in Oklahoma.

It serves as headquarters for Fort Sill military reservation. In 2009 Lawton was selected by CNN Money as the 73rd best small city to live in America.
