Warwick is a city in Kent County, Rhode Island, United States. The population was 36,492 at the 2010 census. Warwick is a major city of the Providence metropolitan area, which has a combined population of 1,622,532, ranking as the ninth-largest metropolitan area in the state.

Warwick was settled in 1642 by Samuel Gorton and other free-thinking Puritans who had left Plymouth Colony in search of religious freedom.
