Federal Way is a city in King County, Washington, United States. It is a suburb of Seattle, Washington’s largest city. The population was 95,171 according to the 2010 census.
Federal Way is located between Seattle and Tacoma and has a large population of South Asians with roots in India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The city also has one of the highest concentrations of Sikhs in the state.
The city has many parks and nature trails including Dash Point State Park on Puget Sound; Twin Lakes Natural Area; Five Oaks Nature Preserve; Schmitz Park; and the Cedar River Watershed Natural Area. The Cedar River runs through Federal Way where it has been dammed to create Twin Lakes. These lakes are an attraction for many people who come fishing or swimming during the summer months.
