Gillette, Wyoming is a city in Campbell County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 10,821 at the 2010 census. Gillette and its surrounding area are served by the Campbell County School District 1.

Gillette is located along Interstate 90 about 91 miles east of Billings and about 94 miles west of Cheyenne. It sits in the Powder River Basin, a sub-basin of the Powder River Coal Field, one of the largest coal fields in the world by reserve base. The city was founded as a camp during construction of the Northwestern Line Railroad in 1883. The railroad was built to haul coal from nearby mines to river ports on the Missouri River.
